THE FOUR PAR 3 GOLF COURSES AT SPANISH LAKES
Q. How many holes do the golf courses have?
A. At Spanish Lakes I, Spanish Lakes Golf Village and Spanish lakes Country
Club Village the courses have 9 holes. At Spanish Lakes Fairways there are
18 holes.
Q. Is it true that residents can play without greens fees?
A. Yes. Residents can play unlimited amounts of golf with no fees of any
kind.
Q. How many days a week are the golf courses open?
A. Courses are open 5 days a week for play.
Q. How do I get a tee time?
A. Just show up and smile!
Q. Are guests permitted to use the courses?
A. No – this preserves space for residents; the golf courses are for their
exclusive use.
Q. How many clubs do most people use on these par 3 courses?
A. Most use a driver, an eight iron, a nine iron and a putter.
Q. Are golf carts permitted?
A. No – We encourage people to walk so that they get much needed exercise.
Q. What is the yardage of each hole?
A. The shortest hole is approximately 70 yards and the longest is
approximately 170 yards.
Q. Are the putting greens full size?
A. The greens are approximately the same size as 18 hole, par 72 courses.
The grass is Dwarf Bermuda and it is mowed at the same length.
Q. Are there water hazards and sand traps on the golf courses?
A. yes – and they can be quite challenging
Q. Are there golf tournaments?
A. Yes – several times each year.
Q. Do you have to be an experienced golfer to play?
A. No. Many residents have never played before and have become ardent
golfers on the par 3 courses.
Q. Are any of the residents expert players?
A. Yes, most definitely.
