WHAT IS A CONCRETE BLOCK HOME?
A concrete block home is built the
“old fashioned” way. The primary steps in the construction of these “site
built” homes are as listed:
1.
A monolithic steel reinforced
concrete footing and slab is poured on site.
2.
Concrete block walls are erected
with steel reinforced concrete filled cells.
3.
A beam block is placed on top of
the walls and then is partially filled with concrete.
4.
Engineered wooden trusses are
securely attached to the beam block.
5.
The entire outside of the home
receives two coats of cement based stucco. The stucco is applied to provide
excellent waterproofing and many, many years of durable maintenance free
living.
6.
Paint is applied to the stucco.
The paint is the only maintenance the structural walls of the home are
likely to ever need.
STORM
PROTECTION
The strong construction, plus the
steel shutters which are included with the purchase of each home, will give
your home the maximum protection available anywhere. The three major
hurricanes of 2004 and 2005 inflicted virtually zero damage on the 364
concrete block homes that have been completed.
INVESTMENT
CONSIDERATIONS
What is less expensive – a home
which sells for $75,000.00 and at the end of 10 years is worth $40,000.00 –
or a home, which costs $130,000.00 and after ten years is valued at
$180,000.00 to $250,000.00? While these numbers are only estimates as to
future value, past experience indicates the validity of these projections.
